Independent management of:

• ISBNs: Obtaining for all necessary book formats (paperback, hardcover, ebook)

• Library of Congress submission: Applying for a Preassigned Control Number (PCN), obtaining a Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) to include on the copyright page of your book, and sending the hard-copy Library of Congress submission after final publication.

• Copyright registration: Completing the lengthy copyright application and submitting all necessary electronic copies/documentation

• Amazon author page setup (if publishing to KDP)

Publishing orientation

• What to expect throughout the publishing process

• Talk through what a realistic publishing timeline can look like based on your goals and the status of your manuscript

• Then map out and deliver a specific, step-by-step timeline for us

Technical Assistance

• I walk you through hosting platform options (like IngramSpark or Amazon/KDP) and some benefits and limitations of each

• I make recommendations for your BISAC categories and keywords to best target your book’s audience, using proven techniques for algorithm and SEO management

• I share what you can expect when uploading files and what to look for when reviewing printed proofs

• I clarify your printing options so you understand the flexibility and limitations of each alternative

Final Upload (author’s preference):

• I can manage the upload independently through the author’s preferred hosting platform—no time commitment from the author necessary

• We perform the upload together over a video call. This way, you get familiar with the process, and we can troubleshoot any questions or issues that may arise in real-time

Strategy & Market Evaluation

• Research how your book will align with others books in the same genre, and share findings and strategy suggestions on how to differentiate its design to best reach your audience

Cover design (front, back, and spine)

• Includes a minimum of 3 initial concepts and 2 rounds of revisions

• Style identification for fonts, graphics, and text hierarchy

• Package includes up to 80,000 words and 5 images (custom pricing is available for longer manuscripts or more complex interior file creation, accommodating charts, graphs, illustrations, and photography within the manuscript)

eBook Conversion

• Formatting for digital, reflowable layout for versatile accessibility on standard e-readers

• Metadata review and input

Final Files for Download

• Print- and publish-ready files will be delivered to the author via a direct download link

Line Editing (Thorough)

• Conduct basic reference fact-checking (i.e., confirming exact movie titles, birth or death dates of famous person in history, or notable continuity/timeline errors in a narrative)

• Offer suggestions for moving or removing text for clarity

• Suggest revisions to awkward or run-on sentences, indicating where copy could benefit from clauses and parentheticals

• Query the author about potential storyline or setting inconsistencies (for example, whether the author intended to describe a character wearing a heavy coat when the scene takes place in summer)

• Suggest stronger substitutions for commonly overused words (things, pretty, very, and good) or phrases (like starting sentences with There are or It is) that make for weak sentence construction

Copy Editing (Basic)

• A comprehensive read-through to correct misspellings, missing words, homonyms, grammar, and clarity

• Fine-tuning punctuation, consistency, and polish for mechanical issues (generally, following APA style guidelines for nonfiction books, unless otherwise specified by the author)

Included in package:

• Media Press Kit for distribution (PDF) or download (if author has a website)

• 3 graphics of your preference to promote your book (may include book mockups, graphics for social media posts/promotion, profile background graphics for your Facebook/LinkedIn, print ads, etc.)

• Promotional calendar develop a recommended timeline for promoting your book and audience touchpoints after publishing

• 2 submissions for independent book awards/shows that suit your book’s genre and audience

• 1 custom merchandise design (you may use for 1-time printing or to sell on a personal website)
